Richard Kemble (Nantucket & Key West 1932 - 2007) American modern abstract lithograph signed and dated 1972. Framed in a silver gilt wood molding. Measures 17 1/8" x 13 5/8" framed; 9 7/8" x 7 1/8" framed. Good condition - wear and loss of silver gilt to the frame. Presents well. Born in Erie Pennsylvania, Kemble taught for twenty years at the State University of Buffalo and later as a professor at Pratt Institute in New York City. He gave up academics after receiving one of the first printmaker’s fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts in 1974. He lived in Key West and Nantucket, exhibiting at the Main Street Gallery.
