This Roy Gover vintage 1969 rare Mid Century Modern lithograph print Vorpal Gallery San Francisco exhibition poster is a very special and unique piece to add to your collection. The lithograph print poster is printed in 1969 in an unnumbered limited edition on the occasion of the exhibition of the Modernist artworks of the artist Roy Gover at the famous Vorpal Gallery in San Francisco. It features an original artwork created by Gover in 1969 titled " Self Navigating Instrument ". Roy Henry Gover ( 1929 - 2003 ) was a British born painter and composer who emigrated to the San Francisco Bay area in 1959. Gover's painting, influenced by such European Modernists as Klee, Kandinsky, and Dali, comprised of an intimate visual diary, incorporating symbolic representations of memories and current events in life. In the 1960's and 1970's he was a highly regarded Bay area California Modernist artist. His artworks were the subject of several successful exhibitions at the legendary Vorpal Gallery, and a major solo retrospective exhibition at The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art in 1971. The rare out of print lithograph print exhibition poster measures 18" W X 25" H. It is in excellent vintage condition consistent with age and light signs of handling. it has never been framed.
