The intaglio depicts a reclining female figure rendered in fine, linear detail, accompanied by a male figure positioned above. Known for his detailed draftsmanship and dreamlike imagery, he became one of the most widely recognized artists of the twentieth century. Dali exhibited internationally throughout his career, with major retrospectives organized by institutions including the Museum of Modern Art, New York, and the Centre Pompidou, Paris. In 1982, he was granted the title Marqués de Dali de Pubol by King Juan Carlos I of Spain.
