Magnificent original pen, and ink by the master surrealist Salvador Dali. Titled Bonjour, The subject matter is a nude woman on a horse with a halo above her, possibly suggesting she is an angel. The paper measures 12 inches high by 10 inches wide. The fabulous hand carved frame measures 19“ x 17“. One of the labels on the back describes it as being reassigned by Dali in 1971. this was a fairly common practice for the artist, especially in New York City. He was so prolific with drawings. He did not always sign them, and therefore galleries that had his works would most likely pay him to come in and sign them if they were authentic. The drawing looks faded, but I believe he just did not press hard enough with the pen as he probably did this drawing fairly quick. Overall, the condition is good except at the top you can see what looks to be too tape marks, and above where it says bonjour, there’s a fold crease, but it is not a tear but it really does not take away from the piece.
