This artwork is an etching on wove paper by Samuel Donovan aka Don Swann (American, 1889-1954) created circa 1940. It is hand signed, titled, and numbered B.120/300 (Second edition) in pencil by the son of the artist. It is in very good condition. The image size is 5.75 x 7.5 inches, and the size including frame is 12 x 16 inches. About the artist. Samuel Donovan Swann 'Don Swann' A Maryland artist and etcher, Samuel Donovan Swann studied art in Munich and in Rome. He dedicated most of his fine art to historic Americana, particularly views of his native state. Today the original etchings of Don Swann are included in such major collections as the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, the United States Naval Museum, the Library of Congress and the Smithsonian Institute, Washington DC. He died in Baltimore in 1954.
