This work of art is the sixth in the series titled “SANCTUARY.”My idea was to explore the concept of retreat and protection. Each painting in the series shows a human figure wrapped up in a fabric, leaving out the face. The flowing fabric acts as a shield, offering the subject a haven to pause, reflect, and find peace. The series highlights the importance of having a space of refuge, a sanctuary where one can heal, grow, and prepare for life’s next steps. Both the colors that can brighten up a space and the emotions portrayed are an invitation to connect with the idea of finding comfort and strength within moments of solitude Franklin Igwenagu Sanctuary VI, 2025 Oil on canvas 40 x 30 x 1 in Unique work Includes a Certificate of Authenticity Shipping Procedure: Ships in a well-protected tube from Lagos, Nigeria This work is unique, not a print or any other type of copy Accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity (issued by the Gallery)
