Chia has been the subject of several solo exhibitions, including at Städtisches Museum Abteiberg, Mönchengladbach, Germany (1982); Museum Moderner Kunst, Vienna, Austria (1989); Espace des Arts, Chalon sur Saône, France (1993); Istituto Italiano di Cultura, Tokyo, Japan (2009); and Hangaram Art Museum, Seoul, South Korea (2015).
