This is a RARE PAIR! These original fashion drawings date to the early 1950s. They feature fashion suit designs for the sophisticated woman of the time. We purchased them in Paris from a vendor who specializes in original fashion drawings. This was a lucky find for us as the 2 make superb wall decor for today's fashionista or vintage fashion collector! They are done in gouache and ink on thick paper stock. Note the silhouette styling of the suits with the fitted waistlines and detailing in the necklines and sleeves. Zoom in to sense the sumptuous lush texture of the fabrics. (perhaps velour?) The unique absence of facial features adds an air of mystery and interest to the illustrations. The poses of both figures are noteworthy as well. These drawings are from a collection that we purchased by the fashion designer, Jean Pierre Fleurimon. Fleurimon is best known today for his makeup and beauty cosmetic salon in Paris. His early career was with fashion design and these are beautiful statement pieces from his Mid-Century work. They are in excellent, clean, pristine condition. Signed by the illustrator. 9.25 x 12.5 inches in size. Each comes matted in a 16 x 20 inch white custom mat ready for standard size frames. See other drawings by Fleurimon in our shop.
