Small late 20th century oil on wood panel painting of early trapper in snowy winter on horseback by Alfred G Vetromile (1917-2006) American. Signed and titled "Trapper in Winter Wyoming" study on verso. He studied aeronautical engineering at New York University and later attended the Art Student League studying under Robert Brackman and apprenticed under Elmore Brown. He volunteered for the Army Air Corp in 1941 and became a Navigator where he flew 35 missions on B-17 Flying Fortresses. First Lieutenant Vetromile earned seven Air Medals, Three Battle Stars and the Presidential Unit Citation. He continued his artistic career after the war. Unframed, edge wear.
