"Inspiration comes from my travels," says artist Kristen Giorgi. "And the people I meet along the way." With relaxation that turns kinetic, "Sofia" reveals one such encounter. A friend on holiday, half in repose and half in a heightened frenzy, captured in charcoal and acrylic on raw linen. Kristen Giorgi is an Atlanta-based artist embracing both her fashion background and veneration for 1960s color field stain-painters. The sense of form and color saturation results in figurative and abstract works that are "edgy and soft, exuberant and reflective—a mirror of my personal style and philosophy."
