About the artist: Pierre Vauthey (1937-2019) was a painter and photojournalist for the French photo agency Agence Sygma. With offices in Paris, London, and New York City, Agence Sygma was one of the largest leading photo agencies. Vauthey specialized in genre scenes and landscapes and often treated his paintings in a lively and colorful style.
