An original oil painting on canvas laid onto wooden board by Alex William Russell Flint, British artist born 1974, "Summer Evening, Argenton Chateau (Argenton-sur-Creuse, France) (between Orleans and Limoges), a panoramic view of the town just prior to dusk, roof tops, the chateau and other buildings, beautiful flowering trees, a hedge and field in the fore ground, 16 " x 29", signed with initials: AWRF in the lower right corner front, inscribed with title on the reverse. CA number 3958, CA purchased from a regional British auction house summer 2024. The 3 1/2" 22kt gold frame with colored panel is original to the painting. The work has been cleaned and varnished in order to protect the paint film. The painting was executed circa 2007 and was first sold by Jorgensen Fine Art, June 2007 to the owner who placed it at auction summer of 2024. The artist is the great grandson of Sir William Russell Flint (preeminent watercolorist and illustrator of the 20th century) and the grandson of Francis Murray Russell Flint, a fine painter in his own right. Alex is a gifted painter and his works have been sold worldwide at ever increasing prices.
