Year of the Pig was all shot on film using a medium format Hasselblad camera. Year of the Pig is photographic series all shot in 2019 during the Chinese year of the Golden Pig- a symbolic time of celebration, fortune, and vibrant colors. The juxtaposition of these characteristics with the political and social climate in the United States created a complex environment and beautiful dissonance, particularly for women. In Year of the Pig, the cheeky confidence and playful attitude of the women against colorful backdrops communicates unashamedly knowledge in the power of our own sexuality.
