Tannour - Acrylic Abstract Expressionist Painting By Egyptian Artist Mohamed Khedr

Chairish

$4,050

This fine example of original abstract impressionism is a magnificent acrylic painting by the renowned Egyptian artist Mohamed Khedr. "Tannour" is Khedr's take on the Sufi meditative practice of praying to God through a repetitive whirling motion. Beautiful colors and movement in Khedr's brush strokes reflect the motion in the person's action. Khedr developed this style and few others have been able to mimic it to the same intensity as Khedr. "Tannour" measures 100cm x 80cm or approximately 39" x 31". It is in a medium-stained wood frame with a classic-style upholstered mat. This piece has only been displayed in art exhibits and otherwise carefully stored. Mohamed Khedr lives in Egypt with his family and is a regular on the regional and international exhibition circuit. Khedr graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts (Set-design Department), Helwan University, Cairo, Egypt (1993). He holds a Graduate Diploma in Folk Art, from the Arts Academy (1995), has an MA in Higher Studies program in the Faculty of Fine Arts, Helwan University, and has a second MA in Visual Arts from Academia d'Arte, Florence, Italy. Since graduation, he has worked in the fields of computer graphics, décor, photography, and as a professional artist.
