Signed lower right, "Croci" for Ron Croci (American, born 1945) and painted circa 1970. A substantial figural watercolor showing a view of an urban, rust-belt landscape with the victims of a multiple-homicide posed against a partially-covered, vintage Oldsmobile sedan. A woman weeps and a policeman gazes skyward against a finely-rendered background of decaying mid-century industrialism and crumpled dollar bills. This work was commissioned as an illustration for an unpublished fine-art book treatment of Allen Ginsberg's poem 'The Fall of America'.
