The Planet Pluto, number 9 in a set of 9 prints featuring the planets of our Solar System. Originally classified as the ninth planet from the Sun, Pluto was recategorized as a dwarf planet due to the discovery that it is one of several large bodies within the newly charted Kuiper belt. A number of scientists continue to hold that Pluto should be classified as a planet. The name Pluto, a god of the underworld, was proposed by Venetia Burney (19182009), an eleven-year-old schoolgirl in Oxford, England.
