The artist’s statement: I paint small still life oil paintings, often of simple, seasonal things that catch my eye - fruit, flowers, and everyday objects that bring a little beauty into daily life. I work from life in a loose realist style, enjoying the play of light, colour and shadow, and the way these elements can transform something familiar into something quietly captivating. Painting, for me, is a way of slowing down in a fast-moving world. It’s about taking the time to notice the subtle shifts in colour, the fleeting fall of light, and the character of everyday objects that might otherwise pass by unseen.
