Each piece measures 11 x 14 inches framed, creating a polished, ready-to-hang trio with the warm, collected look of a coastal study, natural history wall, library, powder room, or layered gallery interior. The presentation is what makes the set especially strong: soft green inner matting, warm neutral outer matting, and solid walnut frames give the shell studies a refined natural-history feel without becoming overly formal. Displayed together, the three works read as a complete visual grouping, balanced in color, scale, and subject. The shell studies are original early 19th-century hand-colored works associated with George Sowerby’s natural history shell illustrations.
