Ancient views of Tokyo is a set of four original vintage albumen prints on single cardboard: 26 x 34 cm. They were realized between the 1880s and the early 1890s. Four images on the front 9x14 cm. Caption in Italian, in ink hand-written on under each print. Rare documentation of the City during the Meiji Restoration. Very good conditions. These photographs, made with a sublime technique for both printing and coloring, achieved enormous success so that the production, as a typology, remained unchanged for almost many years.
