Untitled- Metal And Painted Wood Construction, In The Style Of Louise Nevelson

Chairish

$1,245

This dynamic mixed media construction was realized by the esteemed American artist Ladislas Segy (1904-1988)- whose work is represented in the collection of the Brooklyn Museum of Art- circa 1965. It consists of nine cylindrical aluminum rods oriented vertically that are intersected by three wood crossbars painted black. The highly sculptural work with its tough, yet quietly sublime, aesthetic recalls the work of Louise Nevelson. It represents a striking example of one of Mid Century America's underrated artists. With its monochromatic palate and austere form, it would be a winning addition to virtually any style of interior from classic Mid Century Modern to contemporary. It is presented in a painted black wood frame created by the artist and is in excellent condition. American, Circa 1965 Dimensions: 11"W X 25.25"H X 3"D
