Stories of the True Loyalty of the Faithful Samurai" – Between 1847 and 1848, the renowned artist Kuniyoshi produced his most famous series, depicting the legendary 47 ronin. This collection of 51 prints features detailed portraits of each ronin and depictions of key figures such as Hayano Kampei (who appears as a ghost after his suicide), Lord Hangan, Lord Moronao, and a loyal servant. The prints capture dramatic moments from the ronins' night attack on Moronao’s mansion, showcasing them in intense action scenes or brief recovery moments. Kuniyoshi's meticulous attention to detail and masterful portrayal of warriors have made these prints iconic representations of the 47 ronin. 1917 Yoshikawa Kobunkan Reprints – Published by Yoshikawa Kobunkan of Tokyo in 1917, these beautifully crafted Taisho-era reprints recreate Kuniyoshi's famous warrior scenes. The prints depict the ronin during their heroic night assault on Moronao’s mansion and are an excellent opportunity to collect some of Kuniyoshi’s most celebrated works.
