They were used to promote the latest issues of popular magazines at newsstands, drugstores and other places where they were sold, and they are real timepieces. This one , produced for the July 1944 issue, has a great trompe l'oeil look to it, with everything this well-traveled woman has on her dresser in addition to her reading material. (I want to read that Pearl S. Buck story.) Who is she, and where is she going? Can I come too? In very good condition, as pictured.
