Affirmed (1975–2001) was a legendary American Thoroughbred who became the 11th Triple Crown winner in 1978, renowned for his intense rivalry with Alydar. Ridden by Steve Cauthen, he won 22 of 29 career races, including the Kentucky Derby, Preakness, and Belmont Stakes, and was named Horse of the Year in 1978 and 1979.
