Vintage Jay Rosenblum Child Study Association Lithograph Poster, Circa 1973. Lithograph printing of Jay Rosenblum’s “Untitled” work from 1973 in conjunction with the Child Study Association. This piece was likely commissioned as a commemorative poster noting the consolidation of the Child Study Association of America into Wel-Met’s portfolio. The artwork is bold in color and application. The vertical bars of various colors are reminiscent of the SMPTE color bars. Each band is unique in its width and direction as some are rendered on a diagonal, slightly overlapping, creating moments of brief gradation. Centered beneath the work, the lithograph is titled “Child Study Association of America Wel-Met Incorporated” with publishing rights printed below in small typeface, “130 1973 Poster Originals Limited Jay Rosenblum.” Unsigned. Jay Rosenblum was born in the Bronx in 1933. He was a graduate of the High School of Music and Art, Bard College and the Cranbrook Academy of Fine Arts in Bloomfield Hills, Mich. Rosenblum experimented with the "Visual Stripe motif" for over thirty years. In his art, he sought to express his love for chamber music sonatas with varying blocks of color that, when brought together, would be transformed into a cohesive unit. Jay referred to his work as free association color development. Specs: 30” H | 27” W | 1 1/8” D of Frame
