A fine 19th Century restrike of the original woodblock by Kitagawa Utamaro. The image comes from the series "A Sundial of Maidens," which is a series of scenes showing the lives of high ranking women in Japan. This particular ukiyo-e print shows two beautiful women at an ancient bath house. One dries her hair with a towel while the other rings out a cloth. The artist has signed to the left edge and inscribed with the series title to the upper right. Measures 22 x 17 inches in the frame and 14.5 x 9.5 out of the frame.
