Intense pink and orange paint and paper, overlayed and ripped paper, bold black abstract paint strokes and tissue paper overlapping all the mediums. Intriguing collage by Larry Kessler, a very early work from 1962, purchased approx 10 years ago at a Florida estate sale, professionally rematted and reframed. Loved by me for the last decade. Larry Kessler born 1925, began his art instruction at Cooper Union and the Art Students of New York. His first exhibition was at the Peter Cooper Gallery in New York, and it was comprised of a collection of paintings, drawings and collages. His work has been favorably reviewed by Art News. This was followed by showings in New York and Florida galleries.
