Robert Aaron Frame was an important Santa Barbara, California artist known for his colorful oils of figurative subjects and coastal landscapes. He was born in 1924 (died 1999) and attended Pasadena City College and Pomona College, Claremont in the mid-1940’s, receiving his MFA, and was a Guggenheim Fellow. His work was exhibited at many museums, including the DeYoung Museum, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, and he is in many collections, including the Hilbert Museum of California Art.
