Discovered hanging in a forgotten storage room that had once housed antiques in need of repair in Midtown Manhattan, this unsigned, oversized Abstract Expressionist painting shows the influence of both Pollock and Rothko. The top half is a color field of drippy lavender, while the bottom half is a drizzled mass of black, white and goldenrod. Pictures don't do justice to this beauty. A stand alone in any gallery setting, it's a quality tribute to the Mid-Century Modern period.
