Volcanic Monochrome Number 3 - based on a research trip to Tenerife in which I hiked volcanoes, mountains and forests every day. Photos were taken every second day, and used as the starting point for abstraction. These works were made with dry pigment, as a way to reflect the soil of the volcanic landscape, and began by being monochromatic in order to push vibrancy within a limited colour range.
