This Wassily Kandinsky vintage 1958 Abstract Modernist lithograph print " Composition IX " 1938, is a very special and unique piece to add to your collection. Wassily Kandinsky ( 1866 - 1944 ) was a Russian born Abstract Modernist painter and art theorist. He is considered to be one of the most important Abstract artists of all time. He was an educator at the famous Bauhaus School in Germany, and is credited with theories relating to his original color compositions and concepts of spiritual life and humanity in his artworks. Art works by Kandinsky are included in the collections of many of the world's most prestigious museums. The Modernist lithograph print was printed in 1958 in Japan. It is a page from an authentic vintage artists publication. It features an artwork image originally created by Kandinsky in 1938 titled " Composition IX ". The lithograph print image is attached to the page with a method called " tipping " where it is attached by hand on 3 corners. This print is suitable for framing. The Abstract lithograph print image measures 5 1/2" W X 9 1/4" H, on a page that is 8" W X 11 1/2"H. There is unrelated on the reverse back side of the page that refers to a different artwork image. It is in excellent vintage condition consistent with age and light signs of handling. It has never been framed. Please see photos for condition reference.
