This is a handmade, original woodblock print. Just a few remaining in this limited edition. details: “kitties” •woodblock print edition of 30 •printmaking ink on Japanese rice paper •image size: 5.25"W x 5.25"W •matted in white for 12x12" frame Block printing by hand is a slow process! After drawing my design, the image is carved into wood using chisels and gouges. Once the carving is complete, ink is rolled onto the surface of the block. Next, paper is placed on top of the block, and I use a hand tool to apply pressure, forcing the ink onto the paper. The result is the reverse image printed on paper. “kitties” is a limited edition of 30 prints and will arrive to you signed and numbered in pencil under the image. Each image is printed by hand, please embrace slight variations:) about my work: I'm a full time artist with a BFA from Laguna College of Art & Design, where I majored in drawing and painting, working primarily from life and the nude figure. My work is inspired by nature, my everyday surroundings, and a collection of old photographs. I show in galleries and exhibitions in addition to selling work directly from my studio.
