WPA era scene of skaters on a pond by the New York artist Ida York Abelman (1908-2002) is just in at the shop. Likely painted upstate in the vicinity of the Catskills, this watercolor on heavy laid paper features another New York City street scene on the reverse. This endearing social realism work most probably predates her involvement in the Federal Arts Project as a muralist and lithographer.
