This photograph is a depiction of a lightning storm moving through Utah's Valley of the Gods near sundown. The 2 buttes in the frame are the Sitting Hen on the far left and Rooster Butte near the center. The image is composed of 2 separate photos merged together in 32 bit HDR color. The landscape was photographed near sundown in order to get the red glow on the rocks. The storm was taken at a later time so that the shutter could be held open long enough to get the lightning without washing out the image.
