Antique wall clock JUNGHANS – neo-Renaissance style – ca. 1880 An antique wall clock from the end of the 19th century (ca. 1880), in the neo-Renaissance style, with elements inspired by the Baroque. The clock was created in the form of the Black Forest (Schwarzwald) – known for the production of elaborate clocks controlled in this era. The body is made of solid, black-stained wood, decorated with carved columns, decorative turrets and a beautifully made mascaron – a woman's face with an ornamental headdress, placed centrally above the dial. The whole is crowned by a classic, architectural crown with a colonnade and ornaments in the Renaissance spirit. Good condition, numerous traces of inactive woodworms. Mechanism with a pendulum, walker type. Dimensions: – height: 92 cm. – width: 37 cm. – depth: 18 cm. The Jung Hans brand is a well-known German clock manufacturer from the 19th century, operating mainly in the Black Forest region, famous for its craftsmanship and decorative forms.
