A late 18th-century gilded Empire wall lamp, crafted from a carved and finely gilded wooden palm-holder vase, converted into a wall sconce for use as a lamp. On the back of this lamp, you can still see traces of a shoulder, a piece that allowed for vertical stability, and the lateral traces of two handles, now missing. The central surface of the vase is engraved on plaster and decorated with a carved floral garland with two festoons. The top features an original leaf-carved decoration, unusual for palm-holder vases. In good condition, this 18th-century gilded wall lamp is in working order and suitable for an E27 bulb.
