Brutalist Wall Lamp By Albano Poli For Poliarte, 1970

Chairish

$967

This exceptional wall lamp from the 1970s comes from the renowned Italian glassworks Poliarte and was designed by Albano Poli. It is a striking example of the Brutalist design approach of the era, which deliberately showcases raw materials and striking textures, and is in very good condition. Each lamp is unique; no two are alike. The lamp's defining feature is the solid, textured glass plate with a wave-like surface, which refracts and scatters the light in a fascinating way. In combination with the dark, sculptural, raw iron body, this creates a captivating contrast of transparency and weight—typical of Brutalism. The lamp can be hung vertically or horizontally. When switched on, the lamp produces a warm, atmospheric light with vibrant reflections in the glass, making it both a functional light source and a decorative statement piece. Master glassmaker Albano Poli designed and produced this lamp for his company Poliarte in the 1970s. I have official proof of authenticity such as vintage catalogs, designer records, or other literature sources and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution, European Plug (up to 250V).The wiring of this item may be original and might need replacement, if not specified otherwise.
