1960s, dantoft, denmark. Very rare sunburst wall lamp in an exceptionally large size. Handcrafted steel construction. Heavy quality. These wall lamps, like other metal sculptures by the manufacturer dantoft, are attributed by many dealers and collectors to the designer svend aage holm sørensen. However, to my knowledge, there is no evidence to support these attributions. Be that as it may, this piece is more of a light sculpture than a light source. It doesn't produce a great deal of light, but in an otherwise dark room, the shadows cast on the wall are spectacular (see photos). E14 socket (110-250v, suitable for worldwide use). Comes with a 230v bulb, cord switch (design: achille castiglioni), fabric cable (approx. 230cm), and europlug. This lamp can also be connected to a wall outlet (by a qualified electrician). This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution, european plug (up to 250v).the wiring of this item may be original and might need replacement, if not specified otherwise.
