Mid-Century Articulated Swing-Arm Wall Light Task Lamp By Cosack Leuchten, Germany, 1950s

Chairish

$1,193

This exceptional swing arm wall lamp was designed and produced by Gebrüder Cosack in Germany in the early 1950s. The brass arm is articulated at two points - one at the wall bracket, the other in the middle of the swing-arm - which allow it to be positioned in various ways, and has a reach of 93cm. This minimalist wall light is made from metal with a black lacquer finish, brass and a red paper perforated lampshade. Although the shade isn’t original to the piece, it dates from the 1950s, and has a wonderful patina giving off a soft warm glow, whilst being a highly functional task lamp. There are age-related marks to the arm and shade, as would be expected for a piece of this age. The lamp reaches 93cm fully extended, the shade is 23cm in diameter and 18cm high. The wall bracket is 18cm high by 7cm wide. Professionally rewired. I have official proof of authenticity such as vintage catalogs, designer records, or other literature sources and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution, UK Plug (up to 250V).The wiring of this item may be original and might need replacement, if not specified otherwise.
