Perhaps the most significant early multifunctional architect's lamp of its time, "La Lampe Équilibrée" was patented by E. Buquet in 1927, primarily for its joints that accommodated every angle, and is considered a milestone in functional lighting. It was produced in manageable numbers and in various variations at the small Edouard Wilfried Buquet factory in Paris until the 1940s. Two slightly different models are shown. For sale here is only the slightly smaller version with a 27 cm arm, whose surface is polished. The slightly larger version with a 43 cm arm is in pristine historical patina condition, merely rewired.
