Vintage Italian Wall Lamp In Murano Glass From Mazzega. 1970s

Chairish

$2,441

The Italian lamp manufacturer Mazzega was founded in 1946 and is known for its beautiful designs by, among others, Carlo Nason. They use age-old techniques to produce modern niche glass objects. Especially the designs from the sixties and seventies are currently very much in vogue. Design The shape of this wall lamp is reminiscent of a folded piece of paper and is made of a Murano glass type or technique called ghiaccio. This typical cracked appearance is an effect achieved by immersing the hot glass in cold water, which causes cracks to appear in the surface. Another layer of clear glass is then placed on top, so that the cracks appear to appear in the glass, as it were. The result is an object that appears to be made of ice.Two screws can be seen at the same height from each other with which the glass is attached to the fixture. The fixture is painted white and has a large fitting, i.e. an E27 fitting. The simplicity of the design in combination with the Murano glass design makes it a real pleasure to look at and, above all, a beautiful addition to the interior. Condition The fixture shows some minor signs of wear that are consistent with its age and the glass is flawless. A litle label of the Mazzega logo can be found on the fixture. This piece has an attribution mark, I am sure that it is completely authentic and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution, European Plug (up to 250V).The wiring of this item may be original and might need replacement, if not specified otherwise.
