We present a unique pair of Scandinavian wall lamps, model MPR 90-493, a collaboration between the legendary Swedish glassworks Orrefors and the Danish brand MPR. Designed by lighting master Carl Fagerlund, they embody the quintessence of Hollywood Regency and Mid-Century Modern styles. The lamps captivate the eye with their unique shade structure, crafted from heavy, thick crystal glass. The sculpted surface resembles the texture of ice or an intricate, geometric relief, which, when illuminated, creates spectacular lighting effects, painting shadows on the wall. The entire piece is mounted on a solid brass frame with an elegant gold finish. One of the lamps lacks a ball-shaped cap, but this does not affect the installation or construction of the lamp. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history.
