In the ELO mirrors collection, Pani Jurek explores ceramics and the reflective potential of mirror surfaces. Inspired by the ripple effect on water, the sculptural frames mimic the expanding circles that appear after a splash. The ceramic elements are airbrushed glazed by hand, which gives them a unique, artisanal character. The name "ELO" is a playful nod to Polish slang for "hello," referring to the greeting between you and your reflection in the mirror.Object dimensions: 150 x 80 x 4 cm / 59 x 31,4 x 1,58"Mirror dimensions: 120 x 50 cm / 47,2 x 19,7"Material: hand-glazed ceramicPani Jurek straddles the border between fine arts, craft and design. Applied art objects are created in an artisanal manner. The brand was established in 2010 by Magda Jurek, artist and designer. A painting graduate, she thinks of her objects as signs, sculptures or installations, treating them also as tools for building abstract compositions. Utility forms can also be a means of expression, like colors, stains, textures, shapes. The social projects and non-commercial initiatives, in which she willingly engages, serve not only as tools to make the world a little bit better but they often become the trigger for the creation of usable products.Pani Jurek's objects go beyond conventional functions. Interactivity is their inherent feature. Conceived as part of a composition, they are designed in response to their surroundings and the people who use them. However, the usability of Pani Jurek's products is never neglected. The possibilities are tamed by ergonomics and material.Fascination with the material, mostly ceramics and respect for its possibilities and limitations is visible in all of Pani Jurek's products. All objects are produced on site in Pani Jurek’s manufacturing studio, mostly by hand, under the designer’s vigilant eye.
