Its oval slats feature a central fold, adding structural strength to the ultra-thin material. Together, the slats form a bold, faceted composition, reminiscent of a sculpted gemstone.A mirror is not only showing a reflection of it’s surrounding, it copies of what we intend to see as reality. Martens & Visser’s mirror is instead creating a new image, which is added to the reality. Ino is constructed out of oval shaped and bended mirrors, creating a distorted reflection of what we would suspect.Sustainability plays a vital role in Martens & Visser’s work. The studio works with materials by applying them in a pure way, without unnecessary additions. This approach gives seemingly simple materials a new, timeless value. Their work embodies a natural authenticity, allowing materials to reveal their true essence.
