Affettati mirrors “LARDO” by Nicole ValentiNIVA design presents the “Affettati Mirrors” collection by reinterpreting the mirror in a contemporary and provocative way, creating a line of ceramic frames in a mix of tradition and innovation.Inspiration from the classic Meissen porcelain frames of the early 1700s’ is combined with thin slices of mortadella ham rolled up like Flemish collars.The mirror conventionally symbolic of vanity is downplayed to remind us that sometimes we should not take ourselves too seriously and that only irony can save us and show us who we are!Each piece is handmade and hand-painted in Italy in collaboration with master craftsmen.Nicole Valenti is an Italian artist and designer based in Florence and living worldwide.
