This is a fantastic pair of 17th century carved Giltwood lion’s paw wall sconces. The writing is new. During the French Baroque period, a fascination with mythological figures and the grandiosity of the nobility. The arm sconces were intended to look like they were from invisible servants. There is a general wear to the gilt, but they are in very good condition.
