A pair of iconic Foglio wall sconces designed by Tobia and Afra Scarpa for Flos. The brass sconces were first crafted in Italy in 1967. The design is known for being timeless, contemporary, and minimalist. Foglio refers to a sheet or leaf in Italian due to its construction from a single folded metal sheet. The two sides of the sheet were bent around bulb sockets to hide the light source while projecting a soft, indirect glow. The body is made from powder-painted pressed steel, and the two socket holder supports are made of injection-molded nylon. The sconces have been professionally polished, rewired to meet US standards, and the interiors repainted white to enhance and diffuse the light beautifully. The sconces offer minimalist beauty in sculptural form. The sconces are in refurbished condition. No maker's mark remains following restoration. They require hard-wiring. Dimensions: 8.5" H X 15" W X 5" D.
