The vertical backplate is richly molded with neoclassical motifs and terminates in a stylized acanthus finial. The original fire-gilt surface has developed a beautiful warm patina over time, highlighting the sculptural depth and refined French workmanship. Marked “Made in France” on the castings, confirming their production for export markets in the early 20th century.
