A pair of 2 twins vintage wall lights, assuredly made in italy, as you can see from the beautiful thick colored and tempered glass finished with the grinding and etching technique. These appliques can be dated between the 60s and 70s, we can provide you this information, even though they no longer have the original label of the brand that produced them, thanks to their design, which recalls the items produced during the "space age era" by historic italian companies leaders in the lighting sector such as veca and fontana arte. Also typical of that period is the use of chromed metal, as you can see in the glass support structure. The particularity and beauty of these 1970s sconces is given precisely by the light effects produced by the italian glass. Three different geometric shapes in three different colors and finishes have been superimposed on each other about 1.5 cm apart. The largest module is a transparent square, almost 2 cm thick in the typical "nile green" colouring, the second, a circle in smoked glass, the last one a square, positioned swirled with respect to the first, with shiny edges and acid-etched center to screen the light. An extraordinary grinding work of about 1 cm was carried out on all the glasses. The electrical system of these lamps has been totally renewed by a professional. The glasses are intact, there are some slight imperfections near the screwed chrome inserts, but only one is visible when disassembled. The appliques can be hung on the wall using a hook or an "l" screw to be inserted in one of the 2 holes visible in the photo. up to 250v (europe/uk standard).the wiring of this item may be original and might need replacement, if not specified otherwise.
