One of five large 'Tulipan' glass wall light fixtures by J.T. Kalmar, Austria, Vienna, manufactured in midcentury, circa 1970 (late 1960s or early 1970s).The name Tulipan derives from the tulip shaped hand-blown clear Murano bubble glass pieces. Each glass is handmade and therefore a unique piece. A sconce is made of a white painted metal frame which holds nine glass pieces with brass bolts. Each fixture has two sockets for E14 candelabra base LEDs or bulbs (max. 40W per bulb).The lamps are in very good condition and ready to use. There is a minor difference in the back plates which is not visible when the lights are mounted.The price is per lamp. They are sold individually.Shipping price depends on number of ordered items.The lights are documented in the Kalmar catalogue from the 1970s.Kalmar had a cooperation with several Italian glass makers located in Murano (e.g. Mazzega, Venini) and got the glasses from there. Several other European companies like Orrefors (Sweden), Limburg and Hillebrand from Germany, and Arredoluce, Stilnovo, Fontana Arte from Italy used handblown or textured glass for their lamps in 1950s, 1960s and 1970s.
