These Maison Arlus mid-century wall sconces, 1950s-1960s originals, feature two conical glass shades mounted on an asymmetrical curved double brass structure with charming ruby red lucite points, brass body. They measure 27.94 cm / 11 inches High, 21.92 cm / 8 5/8 inches Wide approximately 8.255 cm / 3 1/8 inches Deep Perfect vintage condition, no chips or cracks on the glass globes. There is one fitting each for candelabra size screw bulbs to illuminate. The lights have been completely rewired the French bayonet bulb fittings have been replaced, easily converts to select destination. Together with companies like Disderot, Lunel and Rispal, the Paris based firm Arlus was at the forefront of the avant-garde of French lighting design during the 1950s and 1960s. The unusual designs combined quintessential French elegance and were obviously rooted in the French Art Deco tradition on the one hand and the desire to counteract the influence of the famous Italian design houses like Stilnovo and Arredoluce.
